INSTITUTE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP JUDGES NEEDED
Summer, early August
The Institute for Entrepreneurship (IFE) is offered through Leadership Development Opportunities. We need alum volunteers to judge student business plan pitches and/or alum entrepreneurs to share their stories and advice with Prep students.
The Institute for Entrepreneurship (IFE) is an intensive and practical introduction to the business world by means of a course in fundamental entrepreneurship for rising tenth and eleventh graders. During the five week course, students learn basic business and economic concepts, coding and app development, and how to create their own business plans. Each student is paired with a mentor from Google NYC, who provides feedback to the students on both their business idea and pitch. The experience culminates in a business plan competition for seed money to invest in their businesses.
During the competition semi-final, volunteers serve as judges to narrow down the number of participants to six students based on their business plan presentations. The IFE Business plan competitions will be held in early August.
We are also looking for Prep alumni who are entrepreneurs to meet with the students, share their stories, and give advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur.
